Seti@Home Finds Something in Minneapolis
But it’s not what you think.
One of the many volunteers for Seti@Home had their house broken into on New Years Day, and their laptop stolen. After scouring the Seti@Home database for a week, the volunteer found multiple connections from his old laptop. So he sent the IP addresses to the Minneapolis Police Department, who subpoenaed the ISP and raided the house, finding the stolen laptop. Read the full story.
